Modelling

We help you explore complex interactions between human activities and natural habitat using SELES spatio-temporal modelling software. MapsWest is a core partner in the SELES.info Network. We can do the following spatial analysis with SELES:

  • Habitat connectivity analysis - E.g. which patches of forest are most susceptible to attack, and in what order are the patches likely to be affected?
  • Beetle population impact analysis - E.g. how will insect populations spread across the landscape given several population and climate scenarios?
  • Cumulative impact analysis - E.g. what is the combined effect of mineral exploration, hyrdo development and back-country recreational use on ungulate habitat?

We do SELES training, often in cooperation with Dr. Andrew Fall of Gowlland Technologies.
